Our Story

Mavencare was conceived after the founders each experienced similar challenges finding and managing quality home care for their grandparents. Collectively, the team decided there had to be a better way.  Using their collective experience in healthcare, senior care and technology, the company was born with the goal of providing the highest quality, family focused home care.  Our Vision to revolutionize home health care; to create a world where people can live out their lives in the comfort of their own homes.

Our Purpose

Nearly 90 percent of seniors want to stay in their own homes as they age, often referred to as “aging in place” but the majority cannot accomplish this. This means that the majority of the 46 million North American seniors cannot live their golden years in the location of their choosing - a problem that Mavencare is determined to address. We believe that everyone has the right to age in the comfort of their own home. And that’s why Mavencare was born.

The Mavencare™ feed connects seniors requiring home care with their families.

Mavencare uses the latest mobile technology to provide you updates throughout the home care appointment. These updates can be accessed on the web or on your phone using the Mavencare app.

The Mavencare feed lets you find out how your loved one is doing, confirm that key tasks such as medications reminders have been completed and receive photo updates throughout the care service appointment.

According to the English dictionary, a maven is a trusted expert in a particular field, one who seeks to pass knowledge on to others. Combining our expertise in health care and technology, we have created a new kind of home care company that makes finding and monitoring high-quality caregivers convenient, transparent and cost efficient. The kind of health care we want for ourselves. Now, we want to share this with you.

How do you match caregivers to clients?
All our caregivers are carefully screened and only 1/25 applicants meet our high-quality standards. We try to find out as much as possible about our clients during the intake process to make the best possible match. In addition, to the clients medical history and care needs we take into account interests, hobbies, and culture.
How do I find out if Mavencare is right for my loved one?

It’s best if we can start with a quick chat about the care needs and other preferences (our caregivers are sensitive to your loved one’s lifestyle and dietary preferences). From there, we can find out how Mavencare can help you. Or, if we are unable to help you ourselves, we will point you in the right direction to find another option that meets your needs!
How much does this cost?
Mavencare charges between $24.95 to $30 per hour of care. The hourly rate depends on the caregiver's skills, experience and location. We will present you with several caregiver options to choose from.
What are Mavencare™’s service areas?
We are currently operating in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), New York City, Massachusetts, Calgary, Ottawa and Edmonton.
Is there a minimum number of hours per visit?
Yes, we have a minimum visit time of three hours per visit.
